About This Place

Welcome to Panshi Restaurant, a cherished gem in the culinary landscape of Sylhet, Bangladesh. Nestled on Jallarpar Rd, this Bangladeshi restaurant embodies the essence of local flavors and vibrant culinary traditions. As a food reviewer exploring this vibrant hub, I was drawn in by its well-deserved reputation among locals and visitors alike.

Panshi Restaurant is best known for its authentic menu, which features an impressive array of kebabs, curries, and rice platters. The inviting aroma wafting from the kitchen sets the stage for a flavorful adventure. The Chicken Boti Kebab, marinated with spices that enhance its tender pieces, is quite the treat at a reasonable BDT 160. If you prefer beef, the Fried Beef Chaap delivers a delectable experience at BDT 180, perfectly fried to achieve succulent tenderness.

The curry offerings are equally noteworthy. The Plain Dal served at only BDT 10 showcases the restaurant's commitment to quality, employing fresh lentils and herbs that dance harmoniously on the palate. For those looking for a more substantial meal, the Plain Rice with Mutton Korma stands out at BDT 260, offering a rich, flavorful journey with each bite. Meanwhile, the Plain Rice with Beef Shatkara offers a tantalizing twist worth BDT 210, garnished with unique flavors from local spices.

The ambiance of Panshi Restaurant contributes significantly to the overall experience. Despite its popularity making it somewhat crowded, the atmosphere remains lively, filled with the chatter of satisfied diners and the faint sounds of sizzling grills. Customers appreciate the friendly staff, who are eager to make your dining experience comfortable and memorable.

In my time at Panshi Restaurant, I was particularly impressed with the variety on offer, which seamlessly captures the essence of Bengali cuisine. The vorta (mashed vegetables) and vaji (vegetable dishes) embody the local flavors that have been perfected over generations. With recommendations for their chingri (prawn) dishes that are a bit pricey yet worth every penny, you are sure to discover flavors that will linger in your memory.

And let’s not forget dessert. The pudding here is a must-try; it is smooth, creamy, and a delightful end to any meal. The faluda and tea are decent companions, complementing the rich flavors of the main courses.

Panshi Restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it is a culinary celebration of Bangladeshi culture. With reasonable prices and delicious food, it attracts a diverse clientele spanning different backgrounds and tastes. The restaurant's ability to cater to various preferences while maintaining a standard of quality is commendable. Next time you find yourself in Sylhet, don’t miss out on experiencing the authentic flavors that Panshi Restaurant has to offer!

I had a decent experience at Pansi Restaurant in Sylhet. The food was tasty, especially the local items, and the service was okay. It was a bit crowded. Good for a quick local meal.

Located in the heart of Sylhet, Panshi Restaurant offers a solid dining experience for both locals and visitors. Breakfast: Their breakfast is quite good—khichuri is a must-try. It’s tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. Lunch & Dinner: They serve a variety of vorta and vaji dishes which are flavorful and well-prepared. The chingri (prawn) dishes are highly recommended—though a bit pricey, they’re worth it. I didn’t enjoy the rui mach (rohu fish) much—it’s not bad, but not particularly tasty either. The dal is average, nothing special. However, the vaji with begun (eggplant) and chingri is something I really liked. Desserts & Drinks: Their pudding is excellent—smooth and delicious. The faluda, on the other hand, is just average. Their tea is also good and worth trying. Extras: Right outside the restaurant, they sell paan (betel leaf)—it’s fresh and enjoyable. Overall: Panshi Restaurant is a good spot to experience traditional Bengali food in Sylhet. Prices are fair, and the food is generally tasty with a few standout items.

Among others, Nan, chicken grills and other types of BBQ items are popular. Sweet water fishes and vegetables items and rice are also available in this restaurant.
